The worst moving experience we've had. Did not wrap ANYTHING. Save money on paper and bubble wrap, I guess. Did not wrap any of the antique lamps. Not any glass vases. Nothing. Broke an antique lamp, hand painted 1800s lamp, which we saw being moved to the garbage. If we hadn't intercepted that act, we may never had known. Intercepted another less lamp being thrown out as well.

The movers did not come to assess the items before moving day. The driver got on Craigslist to hire an additional helper that morning. The site manager at the receiving apartment complex smelled marijuana.

Not recommeded at all. Not at all. VERY, VERY unprofessional.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4200

DO NOT use this company. It is a complete scam. Firstly, their employee Phil Green, told us we would have our shipment in a week. We did not receive our household goods for over a month. Different employees from customer service and dispatch would tell me the shipment is in the way, then turn around and tell me the truck broke down or the truck was in the shop. This excuse was actually used approximately 3 times. They would call and tell me that my shipment was ready to be delivered then two or three days would pass with no updates. It wasn't until I threatened legal action that I received my shipment. Once received, all of our furniture items were completely destroyed. All of our valuables items such as thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, watches, rings and other items, were all stolen. Furniture items that withheld valuables that we had already wrapped for shipment, were undone, ransacked, items stolen and re taped. The company will not give me the carriers information at this time. They claim to be "investigating" the situation, I assure you they are not. They are frauds and have operated over the years under different company names. I wouldn't recommend this company or anyone who does business with them to my worst enemy.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3500

My experience is that they only act professional in the public eye. This is an unaccredited moving broker who does not do anything to earn their money. Based on the milage they gave us a delivery window of 7-14 business days. We are on day 20 and they will not honor the contract they consented to. They will not call you back they do not care where your stuff is, or how long you are without it, will give you attitude when you call customer service, and talk very poorly to you privately. Record all of your phone calls with them, like I do, try to communicate as much as possible through email, and save everything. They will lie to you about who is the manager when problems do arise . When you ask them to properly identify themselves with their company they will not provide professional proof of status. Comb the details of your contract, and always remember that no contract can void gross negligence. Even beyond gross negligence a judge can still look at what has happened and override. This is a terrible company who will strand you and your family with no regard. Do not forget that you can reverse payment from your bank. Don't let them get away with mistreating you the way they have my family, contact a lawyer. We still do not have our property and at this point they will not tell us where it is.

I give this company zero stars in general performance, customer service, communication, honesty, and follow through.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5000

I was promised two things: (1) at least 24 hours of advanced notice of delivery; (2) no cash payment required for anything. Months later, the mover called and told me he would be delivering in two to three hours and insisted on cash payment. I refused. After significant delay, the mover again called on two hours notice, insisting that I accept delivery that day and that I now pay a $300 "redelivery" fee. The company then assured me that I would receive adequate notice and that I would not have to pay the so-called redelivery fee. The next time, the mover called and gave me three hours notice, now insisting that I pay, the redelivery fee and storage fees, in cash. I have not received my belongings and it has been almost a year.

Do not use this company. They are just brokers, not movers. If you look on the FMCSA website you will see they have no fleet vehicles. Any review that says they moved them is a fake review.

They have been deceptive from the start. On the phone when I thought I was hiring a mover and the sales rep was asking questions he didn't listen to me and arbitrarily put dates in, he didn't list property I had on my inventory list that I told him I have...and then he tells me he had a driver in the area but wanted to him call first. He subcontracted me out against my wishes. When the mover showed up I was expecting Gold Standard but instead got a mover called Oasis moving out of las vegas. On April 20 an Oasis customer service rep called and said my property was on a truck heading to Texas...but it never arrived and after 5 days I'm worried and google the reviews on the company Gold Standard hired...Oasis moving is not BBB affiliated and only gets 1.2 stars out of 5. Now I'm trying hard to get answers and nobody has information about where my property is or when it will be delivered. They say they will call and get answers but they never call back like they state they will. I asked to have my contract cancelled so I could get my property myself and transport it but Gold Standard ignored my request. Then I was told my property would be delivered May 1-2...total lie. I'm upset for being lied to and given the run around any normal rational person would be upset. I asked them again to cancel my contract so that I could get my household goods myself and [NAME EDIT] REFUSED. Then he threatened me not to try and get my property back. I paid them to broker my move which means they were supposed to work for me. They look out only for themselves and whatever mover they hire. It's May 14 and I still don't have my property that I was told would be delivered May 1-2. At this point all I have left is to file a felony theft report, file with the FMCSA to initiate an investigation, file with the BBB, and whatever else I can think of to recuperate my losses from their gross negligence and lack of due diligence.

10 for 10 I recommend hiring Mayflower instead, or getting a Uhaul truck or two. At least you know your property won't be stolen or severely damaged. And if you think about it, that's cheaper in the long run.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4600

Please avoid this moving company. They are not honest. We were moving our elderly aunt from Oklahoma to Louisiana and needed the furniture delivered at a later date because we were going to be out of town. My salesperson Thomas Guy ensured me that I would be able to schedule my drop off time for a later date with the driver, but on the day they were scheduled to pick up the furniture the company who they contracted to do the move informed me that it would be a straight delivery. Kappa trucking (the company they hired to do the move)told me that I could not schedule the delivery for a later date and if they had known that I needed storage they would not have taken the job. I tried contacting Gold Standard regarding this and they acted as if they knew nothing about this. I tried contacting the salesperson and he told me to ask the company about storage. Then he stopped responding. When I texted him to inform him that I would give them a bad review he responded ok. They were not helpful at all. They refused to give us our deposit back. Horrible horrible customer service. They didn’t care once they received the deposit. Don’t fall for the lies. They will tell you that they have a truck going that way already so you’re only paying for labor. They will ask if you’ve gotten quotes already and give you a lower quote but as good as it sounds it’s not worth it. They are not with the BBB that’s a red flag. Don’t waste your time or money. They refused to refund our deposit even though we were within the 10 day cancellation window.

Let me start off by saying that as bad as moving normally is, K actually had a fun and exciting day when Phil and his crew showed up to move me. They did not stop from the word go and did such an awesome job in such a short period of time, I could hardly believe it. They had a keen eye for detail and the safety of all of my items as I did not find anything damaged from the move. These guys were the best and I will definitely be using them again. Give them a call if you want to save money and stress on your next move.

I couldn’t ask for any better service , I haven’t moved in a while and was looking for a company to be reasonable with pricing and who had great service , Then I came across gold standard moving and storage they were excellent from just the talk on the phone down to the service , they helped me pack and unpack safely , fast & efficiently , I couldn’t ask for any better service , they all came ready to work and very business oriented , I would definitely use Gold standard for my next move & recommend anyone who is looking to move oh yeah they also have storage options , now isn’t that great !!!

Move size: Studio Service cost: $200

DO NOT USE! I’m sure they will respond with “It’s just an estimate, final charges could be different” but that is what you should be concerned about. I forfeited a $996 deposit, which I was under the impression was the only deposit (1/3 of total estimated expenses). I understand “fine print” always gets you. Their tactic is to call just a few days before your scheduled move date to verify inventory and then send an updated estimate that is now almost $2600 more than the original estimate because I added 15 plastic totes from the garage and a standard 3 seat couch. However, I removed a side by side refrigerator, an ottoman and two fabric high back chairs as we sold those items. Understandably there was going to be a little more than originally estimated, even after the items we removed, but $2600 worth because now the plastic totes require additional labor and packing materials etc. as we were told? It’s a scam. I understand an increase in expense to cover the additional totes but there is no way on this earth that the totes (after we also removed the second couch added at the inventory check) would equate to almost $2600. It left us in fear that we would potentially have to pay more to the movers upon pick up and delivery or else they will hold our items hostage until paid. If you have read the horror stories about moving brokers treat them as accurate. Even those that appear to have great Google Ratings and are rated well with the BBB. If you look at their Google ratings they are all 5 star. Even Disney World doesn’t have only 5 star ratings. They claim they are not affiliated with Gold Standard Relocation Services but I believe that is a lie. I think a simple name change allowed them to keep doing business but I could be wrong. My advice, hire a reputable moving company and yes it will cost more but peace of mind and good business ethics will likely be included.

They pretend to get your business, but resource the job to incredibly poor moving companies. They added an additional $1k with no explanation. One obese woman finally arrived in a truck (who admitted to never moving anything in her life), 1/4 of my furniture was destroyed. I physically had to move everything off the truck, EVEN HAD TO BUY A DOLLY. It took me 4 hours. They promised white glove service. Then they lost my entire art collection. My deceased grandmothers paintings, 3 very large framed photos and prints. I also received a box of a strangers' belongings (car mats). There has been no financial reimbursement and no sign of my artwork returning. Im so upset, they lost the most sentimental and important part of my move. Im looking into legal action for larceny, this has been the worst consumer experience of my life. Shame on this company! DO NOT HIRE THEM!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3600

First of all, they were not upfront from the very beginning. The contract stated they would get my things during a three day span of time, and deliver them within a week. I asked the phone representative to clarify, and he said they would get my things on the first of the three days, and have them delivered by the third day. Great! Not true, the three days was the window to pick up my things. Secondly, they don't actually do the moving, they only broker the move with an actual moving company, in my case Inch Perfect Logistics LLC. This was the real nightmare, and after the nightmare was over I looked up IPL on the BBB and discovered they have an F rating. These people waited from May 14th when they picked up my things in NC until June 17th to deliver them to PA. When I called to complain the GSM&S company rep said even though my contract stated my items would be here within 7 working days, the law stated they have 21 business days to actually deliver. They arrived on the 23rd business day. So they were to deliver on Friday morning, but the foreman of the crew called me and said they wanted to deliver at night and would be here around 10:30 PM. I told him I wasn't sure that was safe r/t poor lighting, and the rudeness factor to sleeping neighbors. They showed up at 11:15 PM Thursday evening. They piled everything in one room even though boxes were labeled. l pointed this out to them and they just stared at me for a moment and continued piling boxes in the dining room. It was up to me to move them to the appropriate room. They also refused to put things in the finished basement or integral garage. So there I was, the 65 year old woman carrying these big items around the house to the basement. None of my items were reassembled, even though the crew who took my things from NC said they would be upon arrival to PA. So much for a full-service moving company. The one man did take a chair downstairs. The real kicker is that while I was in a room of the house, they all piled into their van and took off while I was unaware, leaving most of my items still wrapped up, even though I had asked if they were going to unwrap the items and take their garbage with them. They replied they would but that was a lie. Multiple things were broken, from a trinket box given to me by my now deceased Mother, to a picture frame, to a wooden piece of furniture where the legs were wrapped so tightly at the bottom, it pulled the upper part of the leg away from the main furniture piece, and split the fascia board on the back. My now deceased grandmother's floor lamp was broken, lamp shades were bent. Multiple deep scratches on many things. When I pointed anything out to them, they again just stared at me with no response. They didn't even unwrap the TVs, left them still wrapped in the company's big moving blankets, as well as the large wall decorative pictures. This was an unbelievable experience. When I moved from PA to NC 10 years ago, I had a local company move me and had an excellent experience. Nothing broken, everything placed where it belonged in the house. They even hung up my clothes in the closet because they had a big rod in the back of the truck on which to hang clothing. If this is the type of movers that Gold Standard Chooses, I would pass on Gold Standard if I were you. I wish I could upload photos of the multiple unwrapped items left in my rooms, along with some of the broken items. Come on Gold Standard, do your homework. Don't hook up people with movers that have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5100

Do not do business with this company! A gentleman named Sean Donovan talked me out of going with another company because he said he had 10years of experience in the business and he had his own trucks. He assured me my stuff would be moved on time. Apparently he outsourced to another company named All Relocation (don't ever do business with them either!! Horrible group of people that don't care about you or your personal belongings). My belongings were supposed to be delivered June 7th they did not pick up my stuff till the 7th, and my stuff was not delivered until June 29th. I found out my stuff was taken to Florida and God knows where else. The people that delivered my stuff were from a company called Votran. The gentleman (Vovo) was absolutely horrible he refused to let me view my furniture before he unloaded it and paid him the remaining balance. He yelled at me and my sister when he knew my stuff was damaged!!! He told me "to stop being so emotional, that this was just business, and I should calm down!" All of my furniture (which was brand new) was broken, and had water damage. Every single box was smashed and was wet. When I opened the boxes there was mold and mildew growing on my shoes and clothes. I had to throw almost everything away. My All wood furniture appeared to have sat in water and was covered in mold!! I paid a significant amount of money for them to destroy everything I own including priceless personal items that had many memories! Please don't end up like me! I will be seeking legal action, but I don't want anyone else to go through the nightmare I did. All 3 of these companies are fraudulent and should have their business licenses revoked. Tell everyone you know not to ever use them!!!

Please beware and do not do business with this company! They are scam. They will feed you a bunch of lies and then just take your money and run. We are a military family and We hired this company to do our move. They quoted us a bunch and appeared to be a moving company even acted like they had their dispatch on the phone. Later we learned they were just a broker company. They gave us our quote and hired the scummiest company they could find. The people they sent to our house were criminals and didn’t even have driver’s license because they couldn’t get onto the military base. The company they hired Chetah Movers attempted to charge us another 11,000 dollars when we were only suppose to pay 3000. We had to rent a truck and move ourselves across the country. Now here we are a month later and although Gold Standard broke their contract they are refusing to refund us! So please stay away from this company.

It has been over a month since my guaranteed delivery date. They are brokers not movers and they don’t care about you or your things. I have contacted them multiple times given different dates and I still don’t have my things. The contractor they hired to move my things has blocked me and I have no idea where my things are. I am filing a claim and my insurance is doing an investigation. Pretty sure they are a scam and you and your things are not protected. This is my ENTIRE home that was supposed to be moved. They picked up and now crickets.
